Textile Fabrics' Contribution to Supply Chain Optimization

Recently, the 2013 Global Textile and Garment Supply Chain Conference was successfully held in Humen. Mr. Fu Guangwei, the deputy director of the China Textile Information Center and the national textile fabrics museum, a brave practitioner of the new business model, gave a keynote speech at the conference on the “Contribution of the National Textile Fabrics Museum to the Optimization of the Supply Chain”. It elaborated in detail five parts: the informatization, the classification and coding of fabrics, the construction of the national textile fabrics museum, the construction of hundreds of thousands of projects, and the role and contribution of the national textile fabrics in the optimization of the industrial chain.

Through years of practice, Fu Guangwei stated that the National Textile Fabrics Museum has played a pivotal role in the optimization of the textile and clothing supply chain. Its advanced design concepts and promotion methods have become an important platform for integrating the upstream and downstream resources of the industrial chain. Based on the tremendous development potential and prospects displayed by the National Textile Fabrics Pavilion, Mr. Fu Guangwei stated that he has constructed a national textile fabrics development plan for the next three years, that is, a hundred thousand items. The so-called "hundred thousand" means that in the next three years, ten textile fabric hall physical halls will be built, with more than one million pieces of textile fabrics and one thousand member companies. At present, four national textile fabric halls have been built, which are located in Shaoxing, Jiaxing, Humen, Xiqiao, and will soon establish a fifth branch in Los Angeles, USA.

“Through this pattern, we can deliver the best Chinese-made fabrics to brands and designers in the first time. Designers can find what they want through on-line inquiries, and experience the feel of fabrics in the nearest fabric museum. This will greatly reduce the cycle of seeing samples and placing orders, and creating a new business model for China's outstanding textile companies.” Fu Guangwei’s outlook on the future pattern of national textile fabrics has caused the attention of on-site participants.
