In the second step, a suitable amount of water is contained in the container (distilled water is preferred, the test accuracy is higher, and the water is replaced by distilled water without distilled water), and the weight is weighed and recorded.
In the third step, the jade is rubbed with a string and immersed in the water in the container (make sure that all the jade is not in the water and cannot touch the wall and bottom of the container). Record the reading of the electronic scale at this time, that is, its mass in the water.
In the fourth step, the specific gravity is calculated, namely: the quality of jade in the air (the quality of jade in water - the net mass of the container and water).
According to our actual measurement, the following results are obtained:
Hetian Qingbaiyu: 3.1
Jade: 3.34
Agate: 2.65
Glass fake jade: 2.45
The above is the whole process of identifying the type of jade and the true and false by measuring the specific gravity. Of course, if you think you bought a Hetian jade, but by measurement it is only about 2.45, then I am sorry, you eat again. Medicine, next time, because the ratio of Hetian jade is between 2.9 and 3.1, and if it is 2.45, it is most likely the most commonly used emulsified glass on the market to pretend to be Hetian jade.
Of course, it is best to perform multiple measurements and calculations to make the data more accurate. In addition, the jade can only be identified by the specific gravity. If it is the best value, it is better to go to a professional appraisal agency to carry out the identification of scientific instruments. The result will be more authoritative and accurate.
