Only half of qualified and qualified ONLY physical and chemical indicators failed

In recent years, a growing number of people in Wenzhou have developed a taste for designer clothing. However, a recent joint quality inspection conducted by the Shui On Business Administration and the Consumer Protection Committee has revealed some alarming results. The survey tested 73 batches of branded garments, and only half passed the standards. Among the unqualified items were well-known brands such as PRADA, ESPRIT, ONLY, and JEXBADON, with products ranging from shirts and T-shirts to jeans. The main issues found included discrepancies in fiber content and poor color fastness—specifically, low resistance to dry and wet rubbing. These problems can not only affect the comfort and durability of the clothing but also pose potential risks to consumers, such as skin irritation or staining of other fabrics. According to officials from the quality supervision department, fiber content is a key indicator of a garment's quality and comfort level. Color fastness, on the other hand, measures how well the fabric retains its color under various conditions like washing, sweating, and exposure to sunlight. Poor performance in these areas can significantly impact the overall wearing experience and safety. This incident has raised concerns among consumers who often assume that higher prices or foreign labels equate to better quality. In response, the industry and commerce authorities have issued a public warning, urging shoppers to be more cautious when purchasing branded clothing and to pay attention to product quality and safety. They recommend checking labels carefully and being aware of the potential risks associated with substandard garments.
